CULMSEEs in Germany

this is Axel Culmsee from Hamburg / Germany online writing. Probably your are astonished about the writer's name - and contents of these Culmsee sites - only a bit or maybe a bit more. Please, beg me telling you a short fairy-tale: Once upon a time... many years ago during my school-days. Now we should ask our parents for the origin of our names. Culmsee is the name of a village in todays Poland at the Culm-See (= »Culm-Lake«). And the name Culmsee should have been unique... That's what I believed at that time. (What a silly story for children.) - Today I do regard that story totally different: Of course, with such a lot of ancestors and the branching of each family tree there must exist s e v e r a l n a m e s a k e s. Some years ago I received mail from Australia from the sender Jim Culmsee. I was very surprised. From Australia there are different relationships to former days to Hamburg, Denmark,... And since that time I am more interested in ancestry research. A few years ago I had the opportunity to look into a computer's telephone directory of Germany (that can be bought on CD-ROM). And look - indeed: there are several registration!

So I tried to contact with some of them but what a pity, only very few replied.

Perhaps this ouverture online www will arise some more...?

Maybe you are bit curious, too? On theses sites you can see what ancestors to the former century I could write down with the help of my aunt. In 1850 Ferdinand Culmsee was a farmer. But I do know very few about his (further???) descendants. Who knows...? Maybe there is a little truth on the fairy-tale...?
